(PERTH EAST, ON) - The driver of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) has been charged with impaired driving in Perth County.
Shortly before midnight on May 19, 2018, a member of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed an all-terrain vehicle in the area of Perth Road 107. The driver was not wearing a helmet at the time, and was stopped by police.
Through investigation, the officer formed the opinion that the male driver was under the influence of alcohol, and he was placed under arrest for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The ATV was towed and impounded.
Fifty-five-year old Robert MCGONIGLE of the Township of Perth East was charged with the following offences:
Driving while ability impaired-motor vehicle (alcohol), and
Driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood.
He was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to speak to the charges.
