At approximately 8:35 a.m, a school bus was east bound on Alpha Street at 6 th Ave West when it stopped to pick up students.
The bus was stopped and all of the school bus crossing safety equipment was activated. A sedan driven by a 16 year old Georgian Bluffs resident was driving west bound on Alpha Street and it is alleged to have proceeded against the signals striking a 10 year child as she stepped off the curb. The childs father was present and was able to quickly grab her.
The child was transported to hospital by EMS with non-life threatening injuries.
