(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) - On May 27, 2018 at approximately 12:40 a.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members were on general patrol duties on Mississauga Avenue and Hillside Drive South in the City of Elliot Lake, Ontario.
Police observed an E-bike being operated in an erratic manner which looked to out of control. There were no lights on the E-bike and it failed to stop at the intersection. Police initiated a vehicle stop at which time the female driver pulled to the side of the roadway and fell over. A strong odour alcoholic beverage was detected emanating from her breath. She was subsequently arrested and charged.
Tina REBELLATO, 50 years of age, from Elliot Lake, Ontario was charged with:
Drive While Ability Impaired - Motor Vehicle (Alcohol), contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CC.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on July 3, 2018.
