(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) - The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the scene of a fatal collision involving a pedestrian and a VIA passenger train in the Town of Ingersoll.
On Friday, June 8, 2018 at approximately 7:41 p.m., OPP and emergency services were dispatched to the area of McKeand Street, Ingersoll, regarding a collision involving a pedestrian and a passenger train. The train was travelling westbound on CN Railway tracks at the time of the collision.
The lone pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the collision. The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin.
The Ingersoll Fire Service, Oxford County Paramedic Services and Canadian National (CN) Police also attended and assisted at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
