(LEEDS, ON.) - A pizza order that was not ready in Rideau lakes Township prompted a hangry patron to call 911.
On June 11, 2018 at about 9:00 PM members of the Rideau Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a 911 call for service from a 32 year old woman after visiting a restaurant in Elgin. She was requesting OPP assistance as her pizza order was not ready.
OPP officers arrived and found the woman and her son in their car waiting to explain her dissatisfaction with the restaurant.
Officers educated her on the proper use of the 911 system.
Leeds County OPP Staff Sergeant Josh Kingsley sends a reminder, "For a life-threatening situation or imminent danger or crime that's in progress, that's when you call 911,"
