(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) -Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were alerted to a vehicle on Main Street in St George in the County of Brant on 8 June 2018 at approximately 11:50 p.m.
The 3 wheel All-Terrain-Cycle (ATC) was stopped by police and the 38-year-old driver James LAING of the County of Brant was arrested and charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
Driving While Ability Impaired, contrary to Section 253(1)(a)
Care and Control with More than 80 mgs, of Alcohol in Blood contrary to Section 253(1)(b)
He was also charged with possession of controlled substances contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act and Driving under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford at a later date to answer to his charges. If convicted, the offender will be subject to the Criminal Code penalties, including a fine or jail time, and a driving prohibition.
