(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) -Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to attend Grand River Street North in Paris in the County of Brant in response to a traffic related issue at approximately 4:00 p.m. on 9 June 2018.
OPP officers attended the area and located the vehicle and driver. During the investigation officers determined that the male driver of one of the involved vehicles was impaired by alcohol.
Police have charged 68-year-old John ZMIJA of Kitchener with Driving with More than 80 mgs, of Alcohol in Blood contrary to Section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada:
He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford at a later date to answer to his charges. If convicted, the offender will be subject to the Criminal Code penalties, including a fine or jail time, and a driving prohibition.
