(BLUEWATER & SOUTH HURON, ON) - Two Huron County residents are facing drug trafficking and drug possession charges following an investigation by members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Huron County OPP.
On Tuesday, June 12, 2018 a Huron OPP officer on patrol in Hensall observed a male and a female that were both wanted for the theft of firearms from an address in Middlesex County. Upon confirming the valid warrants police approached the pair and were able to take them into custody without incident.
Upon arrest police completed a search whereupon they located a backpack in the accused's possession that contained illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. Subsequent investigation led to members from the Huron-Perth & Elgin-Middlesex (CSCU) teams executing a search warrant at a residence located on St. Lawrence Avenue in Huron Park.
As a result of the execution of the search warrant police seized a prohibited weapon (flick knife) and offence related property consisting of cash and drug paraphernalia.
Travis DAVIS, 29 years of age from South Huron has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Methamphetamine) for the Purposes of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Heroin), Possession of Schedule I Substance Methylenedioxyamphetamine (Ecstasy) and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 28, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Exeter.
Jessica THISTLE, 32 years of age from Huron East has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Methamphetamine) for the Purposes of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Heroin), Possession of a Schedule I Substance Methylenedioxyamphetamine (Ecstasy) and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon. She has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 28, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Exeter.
