(MEAFORD, ON) - During the morning of June 15, 2018, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit, members of the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), and Grey County OPP officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a property on Eliza Street in the Town of Meaford.
As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized cocaine and cannabis marihuana. The combined estimated value of the seized Controlled Substances is $1120.00. Police also seized offence related property that consisted of Canadian currency and assorted drug paraphernalia. Four people were arrested and charged:
37-year-old female, Jennifer WAGNER of Meaford is charged with:
Possession of cocaine for purposes of trafficking 5(2)Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
Possession of cannabis marihuana 4(1)CDSA
29-year-old male, Andrew MCQUARRIE of Meaford is charged with:
Possession of cocaine for purposes of trafficking 5(2)CDSA
Possession of cannabis marihuana 4(1)CDSA
33-year-old male, Michael SMITH of Meaford is charged with:
Possession of cannabis marihuana 4(1)CDSA
The fourth person is a young offender who was charged with possession of cannabis marihuana 4(1)CDSA and released on a Promise to Appear. Pursuant to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, police will not be identifying them.
The 3 accused adults were released on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking before an officer in charge to appear at Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on July 19, 2018.
