(INGERSOLL, ON) - On Saturday, June 16, 2018 at approximately 8:54 p.m., the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a small grass fire on King Street East in Ingersoll.
Through investigation it was determined that a male suspect was observed setting a grassy area on fire. The incident took place near a parking lot at King Street East and Water Street, in the Town of Ingersoll.
The suspect was observed to set the fire, remained in the area and played what may have been a recorder (musical Instrument), then attempt to set the grass on fire a second time before fleeing the area. The male also had a small white dog with him at the time, and a female was observed in the area as well and may have also been with the suspect.
The fire was small in nature, however the Ingersoll Fire Service attended to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.
The suspect is described as follows:
Male, approximately 30-years-of-age
Approximately 5 foot 8 inches
Thin build
Short dark hair
Dark t-shirt, long style, blue and white plaid shorts
The incident remains under investigation.
