During the weeks of June 4, 2018, to June 17, 2018 there were 223 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.
There were twenty two motor vehicle collisions, eight were animal related.
There were six domestic dispute calls for service, and four domestic disputes resulting in criminal code charges.
Domestic Disturbance Charges
On Wednesday June 13, 2018 at approximately 1:11 pm, Killaloe OPP responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Bonnechere Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, a 29 yr. old male from Renfrew has been charged with Breach of Recognizance x 3, Breach of Probation, Domestic Assault, Overcome Resistance by Choking, Domestic Mischief, contrary to the Criminal Code, and Possession of Schedule ll Substance, Marihuana under 30 grams, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused was held pending a bail court hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Domestic Breach of Probation Charge
On Wednesday June 13, 2018 at approximately 4:07 pm, Killaloe OPP responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. As a result of police investigation a 26 yr. old male from Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. has been charged with Breach of Probation, contrary to the Criminal Code, for failing to abide by a no alcohol consumption condition. The accused was held for bail court, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Domestic Fraud, Breach of Undertaking Charges
On Monday June 4, 2018 at approximately 12:45 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Julie McPeak and Constable Jason MacDougall responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence in North Algona Wilberforce Twp. As a result of police investigation, a 51 yr. old female from North Algona Wilberforce Twp. has been charged with Possession of Stolen Mail, Theft Under $5000, Use Credit Card Obtained By Commission of Criminal Offence, and Breach of Undertaking x 2, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held pending a bail court hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Domestic Assault, Breach of Recognizance, and Cause Disturbance Charges
On Thursday June 14, 2018, at approximately 6:03 pm, Killaloe OPP responded to a domestic call at a residence in Bonnechere Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, a 32 yr. old male from Bonnechere Valley Twp. has been charged with Domestic Assault x 2, Breach of Recognizance x 4 and Cause Disturbance, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held pending a bail court hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Weapons Charge
On Saturday June 16, 2018 at approximately 4:09 pm, Killaloe OPP responded to a weapons call on Highway 28, Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Twp. As a result of police investigation, 58 yr. old Roger BEHM of Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Twp. has been charged with Pointing A Firearm and Criminal Harassment, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held pending a bail court hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke.
Breach of Recognizance Charges
On Monday June 4, 2018 at approximately 3:03 pm, Killaloe OPP investigated a call alleging a male was breaching his conditions of release in Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. As a result of police investigation, 53 yr. old Mark TOMS of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. has been charged with Breach of Recognizance x3, Pointing a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited, Possession of an Imitation Weapon For A Dangerous Purpose, contrary the Criminal Code and Possession of a Schedule lll Substance, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused was held pending a bail court hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke.
Impaired Charges
On Saturday June 9, 2018 at approximately 10:14 am, Whitney OPP Constable Mike Holbrook responded to a call of a possible impaired driver on Highway 60, South Algonquin Twp. As a result of police investigation, 22 yr. old William MICHAUD of South Algonquin Twp. has been charged with Impaired Operation and Over 80, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday July 25, 2018 at a 9:30 am, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The licence was seized and suspended for 90 days.
Impaired Charges
On Monday June 11, 2018 at approximately 7:46 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Ian Morin responded to a call of a possible impaired driver on Kagagimin Inamo, Golden Lake, Ontario. As a result of police investigation, 52 yr. old Tamela DICK of Golden Lake Ontario has been charged with Impaired Care and Control, and Impaired Care and Control Over 80, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday July 25, 2018 at 9:30 am, Ontario Court of Justice Killaloe. The vehicle was towed and the licence seized and suspended for 90 days.
Collisions
On Wednesday June 13, 2018 at approximately 4:51 pm, Killaloe OPP Sgt. Jordan Bullis responded to a two vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and sport utility vehicle (SUV) on Highway 60, Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. A 25 yr. old male driver from Killaloe Hagarty and Richards Twp. was charged with Improper Turn, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and issued a Provincial Offence Act notice. There was no tow and no reported injuries.
On Monday June 11, 2018 at approximately 8:14 am, Killaloe OPP Constable John Thurston responded to a two vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on Bonnechere St East, Bonnechere Valley Twp. A 61 yr. old male from North Algona Wilberforce Twp. was charged with Follow Too Closely, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and issued a Provincial Offence Act notice. There were no reported injuries and a tow required for one vehicle.
On Monday June 11, 2018 at approximately 11:10 am, Killaloe OPP responded to a single vehicle collision involving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on Bonnechere St East, Bonnechere Valley Twp. A 16 yr. old male driver from North Algona Wilberforce Twp. was charged with Careless Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and issued a Provincial Offence Act notice. There were no reported injuries and no tow required.
On Saturday June 16, 2018 at approximately 11:49 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Jesse Kisters and Constable Troy Halloran responded to a single vehicle collision involving a dirt bike on McCrae Lake Road, South Algonquin Twp. The 43 yr. old male driver had been ejected from his dirt bike during a bike rally. ORNGE Air attended and transported the male to hospital with serious injuries. Highway 127 was closed for a short period of time to allow ORNGE Air to land. No charges laid, alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
On Thursday June 7, 2018 at approximately 10:22 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Kyle Fabian responded to a single vehicle collision involving a passenger car and a moose on Highway 60, Algonquin Provincial Park. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance. The vehicle was towed. No charges laid.
Theft
On Wednesday June 6, 2018 at approximately 9:38 am, Killaloe OPP responded to a theft call at the Grape Vine Store, Opeongo Line, Madawaska Valley Twp. A wine barrel was stolen sometime overnight from the front of the store. Police are continuing to investigate the theft.
Break and Enter
On Thursday June 7, 2018 at approximately 8:59 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Troy Halloran responded to a break and enter at the Archery Club on Highway 60, South Algonquin Twp. Entry was gained through a window. The OPP Scenes of Crimes Officer attended to collect evidence. This incident remains under investigation.
Mischief
On Wednesday June 13, 2018 at approximately 10:54 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Steve Regan responded to a mischief to property call on Lakeshore Drive, Madawaska Valley Twp. Fire extinguishers had been set off inside the cabin of a house boat. This incident remains under investigation.
