(PERTH EAST, ON) -A Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check in the Township of Perth East resulted in an impaired driving charge on June 15, 2018.
Shortly after midnight, the driver entered the RIDE checkpoint where a member of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) formed grounds to suspect that the driver had consumed alcohol. An approved screening device was used, which registered a fail result. The driver was arrested and transported to an OPP detachment for further testing.
Forty-two-year old Josiah JANTZI of Huron East was charged with:
Driving With More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood.
The motor vehicle was towed and impounded, and a driver's licence suspension was imposed. He was later released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
