(PERTH SOUTH, ON) -A Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check in the Township of Perth South resulted in an impaired driving charge on June 16, 2018.
Shortly after before 4:30 p.m., the driver entered the RIDE checkpoint where a member of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) formed grounds to suspect that the driver had consumed alcohol. An approved screening device was used, which registered a fail result. The driver was arrested and transported to an OPP detachment for further testing.
Sixty-three-year old John PRIDHAM of the City of Stratford was charged with:
Driving With More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood.
The motor vehicle was towed and impounded, and a driver's licence suspension was imposed. He was later released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
