(PERTH SOUTH, ON) -A traffic complaint made by an off duty police officer assisted the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with locating a suspected impaired driver shortly before 4:00 a.m., on June 17, 2018.
The motorist was travelling on Perth Line 20 in the Township of Perth South where he was stopped by a member of the Perth County OPP. Through investigation, grounds were formed that the driver had consumed alcohol. He was subsequently arrested and transported to an OPP detachment for further testing.
Fifty-one-year old Christopher RIVARD of Kalamazoo, Michigan was charged with the following offences:
Driving While Ability Impaired-Motor Vehicle
Driving With More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood.
The motor vehicle was towed and impounded, and a driving suspension was imposed. He was later released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
