(PERTH EAST, ON) - A motor vehicle collision shortly before 4:30 a.m., in the Township of Perth East resulted in an impaired driving charge on June 16, 2018.
Members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County Paramedic Services and Perth East Fire Department attended the scene.
The single vehicle collision occurred on Perth Line 34 in the Village of Shakespeare, with one of the vehicles striking a hydro pole. The driver was transported to hospital for further assessment and hydro crews responded to repair the damaged lines.
Perth Line 34 was temporarily closed during the repair.
Twenty-seven-year old Albert ALTOMARE of Woodstock was arrested and charged with:
Driving while ability impaired-motor vehicle (alcohol), and
Driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood
He was later released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. His motor vehicle was towed and impounded, and a driver's licence suspension was imposed.
