(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment has charged a 34-year-old male with multiple offences including impaired driving following a traffic stop at a Highway 6, Caledonia, Haldimand County, Ontario address.
On Saturday June 30, 2018 at 10:28 p.m., OPP were conducting patrols on Main Street North in Hagersville when a vehicle travelling above the posted speed limit caught the attention of an officer.
The vehicle continued north bound on Highway 6 toward and the officer noticed the vehicle being driven in an aggressive manner and travelling at more than double the posted 80 km/hour speed limit.
The officer stopped the vehicle on Highway 6 in Caledonia and investigated.
While speaking with the male driver, signs of impairment were detected.
The driver failed a field sobriety test and was subsequently arrested.
OPP has charged 34-year-old Mansoor BAIG of Mississauga, Ontario with:
Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
Racing a motor vehicle
Speeding
He is to appear in Provincial Court Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
