(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is urging everyone to put their safety as a priority on land and off land.
On Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at approximately 3:22 p.m., OPP along with the members of the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton, Norfolk County Paramedic Services and Orng responded to Turkey Point for a report of a male that had injured himself after being thrown from a Sea-Doo while at Pottahawk on Lake Erie.
Off-duty police officers along with other bystanders observed the incident and immediately rescued the male and held him above the water until emergency services could arrive.
A 17-year-old male of Oakville, Ontario was brought back to shore where he was then taken by air ambulance to a local London area hospital to be treated for serious non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
