(MIDLAND, ON) - A member of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on routine patrol on King Street in the Town of Midland stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic offence. The officer acting on his observations and speaking with the lone male occupant the officer entered into a drinking and driving investigation.
As a result of that investigation Andrew SMITH 34 years of Brampton has been charged with Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample contrary to section 254(5) of the Criminal Code of Canada. His vehicle has been impounded for 7 days and his drivers licence has been suspended for 90 days under the Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS). He was released from police custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on August 9, 2018.
