(HALIBURTON, ON)- On July 14, 2018 shortly after midnight, an officer from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 35 in the Township of Minden Hills.
The male driver of the pick-up truck had been drinking alcohol. After registering a "Fail" on the approved roadside screening device, he was transported to the OPP Detachment in City of Kawartha Lakes for further breath tests.
Andrew WRAY, 32 years-old, of Scugog Township was charged with:
Driving with Over 80 mg of alcohol in blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
Speeding contrary to section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden on September 5, 2018. He also received a 90 day driver's licence suspension and a 7 day vehicle impoundment.
