(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Oxford County Detachment investigated an incident at a Foldens Line, South West Oxford Township address.
On Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at approximately 7:56 a.m., officers responded to a collision between a transport truck and bicyclist.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that a transport truck being operated by a 39-year-old male of Huron East approached the intersection of Foldens Line and Karn Road when a bicyclist collided with trailer on the truck. The driver of the truck attempted to swerve to avoid the collision to no avail.
As a result of the collision, the bicyclist suffered minor injuries and was transported by Oxford County Paramedics by ambulance to a local are hospital for treatment.
Police have charged 20-year-old Karl HAWKINS of Woodstock, Ontario with fail to yield to traffic on through highway contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
He was subsequently issued a Provincial Offence Notice.
