(PERTH EAST, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County Detachment is urging all residents to secure their vehicles following another theft occurrence from a parked motor vehicle.
Police were contacted shortly after 5:00 p.m, on July 17, 2018 by a resident reporting the theft.
The theft occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m., where an unknown suspect gained entry into the vehicle. Once inside, the suspect removed a wallet, credit cards, Driver's Licence, debit card, and a quantity of Canadian currency before departing the area.
Members of the Perth County OPP are reminding the public to consistently secure their property to prevent theft. Property crime can occur at any hour in both urban and rural areas. Unlocked vehicles are crimes of opportunity for criminals. Don't provide the opportunity!
