(MIDLAND,ON)- Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched on July 29, 2018 to a County Road 93 Midland grocery store after 2 shoppers fled from the store security officer. The investigator spoke with store security and reviewed the store security data. The investigator located and charged Danielle PAQUETTE 30 years of Midland with Theft Under $5000- SHOPLIFTING contrary to section 334 (b) and Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada. Also charged is Jesse Paul TREWIN 33 years of Midland with Theft Under $5000- SHOPLIFTING contrary to section 334 (b) , Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada contrary to section 354 (1) (a) and Escape Lawful Custody contrary to section 145 (1) (a) of the Criminal Code of Canada Both persons were released from police custody on to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on September 13, 2018.
An officer was also dispatched on July 20, 2018 to a shoplifting complaint at another County Road 93 Midland grocery store after the male suspect fled the store prior to the arrival of police. The investigator spoke with store officials and after reviewing store security data, located and charged Jonathan James FOURNIER 31 years of Midland on July 28, 2018 with Theft under $5000.00 contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada. He was released from police custody on his own recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on September 13, 2018.
