(CENTRAL HURON, ON) - A 50-year-old from Central Huron is facing Impaired Driving and Over 80 charges following a traffic stop that took place east of Goderich earlier this week.
Just after 11:30 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2018 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint of a vehicle that was swerving all over the road travelling northbound on Bayfield Road in Goderich. Officers began patrolling for the suspect vehicle and within a few minutes an officer located the suspect vehicle travelling eastbound on Huron Road (Highway 8) near Porter's Hill Line.
Upon stopping the vehicle and speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol and was displaying signs that he was impaired by alcohol. As a result the driver was placed under arrest for impaired driving and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He subsequently provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both of his samples registered over the legal limit.
Michael HILDEBRAND, 50 years of age, from Central Huron has been charged with Impaired Driving & Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for August 20, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
