(The Blue Mountains, ON) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a motorist yesterday with several offences after stopping a vehicle which did not have its full lighting system activated.
The incident took place shortly before 11:00pm on August 2 2018 when an officer conducted a vehicle stop, on Marsh Street, for the above mentioned observation. Upon speaking to the driver it was determined that he was under the influence of alcohol which led to his arrest and transport to detachment for processing.
Charged is 24 year-old Matthew SHEFFER of Meaford, he is charged with a Criminal Code offence of Driving a Motor Vehicle with More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood as well as Highway Traffic Act offences of Drive a Motor Vehicle Without Proper Rear Light and Novice Driver with Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero.
He is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on August 23 2018.
