(FORT FRANCES, ON) - On August 5, 2018, at approximately 1:41 AM, a member of the Rainy River District Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol near Reid Avenue, in Fort Frances when he observed a Highway Traffic Act offence. The officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver. While in conversation, the officer determined that the driver had alcohol in his body. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Fort Frances OPP detachment, where he underwent further tests.
Steven RYAN, 42 years of age, of Robbinsdale, Minnesota, U.S.A., has been charged with the following offences:
Driving While Ability Impaired contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code,
Driving with more than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and has a scheduled court date on August 27, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances.
