(PEMBROKE, ON) - On July 31, 2018, at approximately 1155pm, a member of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Church Street in the City of Pembroke. The officer was driving an Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) equipped police vehicle which alerted the officer that the licence plates of the subject vehicle belonged to a suspended driver. The driver was found to be suspended and also under the influence of alcohol. The driver, 37-year-old Braden Kerry ROBINSON of Laurentian Valley Township (LVTP), failed a roadside screening test and was arrested and subsequently charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offence:

On August 1, 2018, shortly after midnight, a member of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the OPP conducted a traffic stop on Russham Road in LVTP after a possible impaired driver was reported in the area. The driver, 20-year-old Raegan GOLDBERG of Pembroke, was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested after refusing to provide a breath sample and faces the following charge under the CC:
Fail or refuse to provide sample
Both drivers were released on a promise to appear with a court date of September 11, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Pembroke. Both men had their licences suspended for 90 days and their vehicles towed and impounded for seven days.
