(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) - On August 10, 2018, at approximately 12:00 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a possible impaired driver northbound on Highbury Avenue, Municipality of Middlesex Centre.
Police located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.
The officer determined that the 17-year-old, male, driver of the vehicle was operating the motor vehicle while impaired by drugs. The driver was arrested and transported to a police station for further testing.
As a result of the police investigation, a young person, of London, Ontario has been charged with Driving While Ability Impaired - by Drug, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada (CC).
The accused faces an additional charge of Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking - under 3 kg (cannabis) and Driving a Motor Vehicle - No Licence.
The accused is scheduled to appear in a London court room on September 10, 2018 to answer to the charge.
