(SOUTH-WEST OXFORD TOWNSHIP, ON) - On August 9, 2018 at approximately 2:50 p.m. a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting RADAR enforcement with the assistance of the OPP aviation services on Highway 401 westbound near the Town of Ingersoll.
A vehicle was observed exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. The speed was registered in excessive of 190 km/hr.
A traffic stop was conducted on Ingersoll Street South in Ingersoll on the suspect vehicle, which was a motorcycle.
As a result, the male driver, Herbert RUNSTEDLER, 26-years-old from Brussels, Ontario has been charged with race a motor vehicle - excessive speed, and failing to have insurance, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
His driver's licence has been suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days, as per statute.
Oxford OPP would like to remind drivers that stunt driving or racing is a serious and reckless forms of aggressive driving, and it puts everyone on the road at serious risk of injury or death.
