(ST. MARYS, ON) - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County detachment attended two residences in the Town of St. Marys on August 14, 2018 following reports of entries to two detached garages.
The first incident occurred during the early morning hours of August 9, 2018 on Carrall Street. A detached garage was entered and a chainsaw and briefcase were removed. The second incident occurred during the early morning hours of August 13, 2018. A detached garage was also entered, and food items were removed.
Police are reminding all property owners to ensure that doors, windows and buildings are locked. "An insecure premise or vehicle presents an opportunity, and multiple properties in an area can present multiple opportunities if each one is left unlocked."
