(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) - On Tuesday August 21, 2018 at approximately 2:41 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a possible impaired driver in the ditch on the Eramosa-Garafraxa Town line near the Fifth Line of Centre Wellington Township.
Officers located the grey sedan in the ditch and while speaking with the driver made the determination that his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, he was placed under arrest and transported to a local OPP Operations Centre for processing. Further investigation revealed that the driver was bound by a court order not to operate a motor vehicle due to a suspension.
32-year-old Pavel WEISS of Mulmur Township has been charged with Care or Control While Impaired, Care or Control Over 80 mgs and Driving While Disqualified contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on September 21, 2018 to answer to his charges.
A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment were initiated as per statute.
