(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - On Wednesday August 22, 2018 at approximately 3:00 p.m. a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was flagged down on Wellington Road 124 in Ospringe by another motorist alerting him to a possible impaired driver that was operating a small sport utility vehicle (SUV) and was now pulled over on the side of the road. The officer spoke with the driver of the (SUV) and determined that she was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device (ASD) test was conducted which resulted in a fail. She was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
44-year-old Penny HALLIDAY of Acton has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on September 18, 2018 to answer to the charge.
A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.
