(PERTH SOUTH, ON) - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County detachment, and Perth County Paramedic Services attended a residential address on Perth Line 4 in the Township of Perth South following a report of an unresponsive male.
Officers arrived shortly after 7:30 p.m. on August 26, 2018. The male was located at the residence without vital signs and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was performed. The male remained unresponsive at which time an officer administered Naloxone.
Paramedics transported the male to hospital where he was stabilized and is recuperating.
Naloxone can temporarily reverse an opioid overdose. OPP officers are equipped with a Naloxone kit and are trained to use it in an emergency.
