(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) - On August 1, 2018, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the East Algoma OPP Crime Unit and the East Algoma OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed a search warrant at a residence on Hergott Avenue in the City of Elliot Lake, Ontario.
During the search police located and seized over $2500 in Canadian currency, a significant amount of suspected Cannabis Marihuana bud, suspected Oxycodone pills, a jar of suspected Hash oil, four bottles of Methadone, suspected Shatter, suspected THC Gummicons, and other drug paraphernalia. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is over $77 000.
As a result of the investigation, Bradley GRIER, 29 years of age, from Elliot Lake, Ontario was charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid (two counts), contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA),
Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Over 3 kg, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Under 3 kg (three counts), contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA, and
Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC).
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake, Ontario on September 1, 2018.
