(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) - On August 29, 2018 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a male committing break and enters to residences near Egermont Street, Mount Forest.
OPP officers arrested the male without incident. The male received medical attention from the emergency medical service at the time of the arrest but was released by medical staff and taken into police custody.
As a result of the investigation, 27-year-old Raymond Lloyd COTE of Mount Forest was charged with:
Break and Enter a Dwelling House - Commit Indictable Offence;
Break and Enter a Dwelling House - with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence;
Uttering Threats to cause Death or Bodily Harm;
Fail to Comply with a Recognizance;
Assault;
Mischief Under $5000; and with
Possession of Methamphetamine.
While in custody awaiting a bail hearing, the male required medical attention for an injury and was transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment.
The OPP has notified the province's Special Investigation Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
