(TOWNSHIP OF FERGUS, ON) - On Friday August 29, 2018 at approximately 3:00 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible drunk driver on Highway 6, between Guelph and Fergus. It was reported that a driver of a truck and trailer, was possibly impaired.
Police located the driver of the grey pickup and trailer as it entered Fergus. While speaking with the male driver officers formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening Test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
45-year-old John F. SINCLAIR of Elora has been charged with Driving while 'Impaired by Alcohol' and while 'Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood'. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on September 29, 2018.
