(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) - On Wednesday September 5, 2018, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a newer model sedan at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 135 km/h, exceeding the posted speed limit by at least 55 km/h.
26-year-old Oussama HAMADACHE of Guelph has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on October 17, 2018. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
