(THAMES CENTRE, ON) - On September 14, 2018 members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a business on Dundas Street, Thames Centre, after two male parties attended a business in what was believed to be a stolen vehicle.
Police records indicated that the vehicle in question had been reported stolen to the Chatham-Kent Police Service. Multiple units were dispatched to the area.
As police arrived on-scene, the suspects fled into a field at the back of the property.
Members of the Middlesex County OPP, West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), West Region OPP Canine Unit (K9) and a helicopter from OPP Aviation Services were deployed to assist in the search.
As a result of this investigation, 20-year-old male, Richard Jacob BROWN, of Chatham, Ontario was arrested at scene and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, pursuant to the Criminal Code (CC).
This accused was released by way of Promise to Appear and scheduled to attend court in London on October 29, 2018 to answer to the charge.
A second male suspect, 42-year-old, of London, Ontario has been identified as involved in this event. An arrest warrant is being sought for his arrest.
