(WEST PERTH, ON) - On Monday, September 17, 2018, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County detachment, OPP Highway Safety Division, Perth County Paramedic Services, West Perth Fire Department, Municipality of West Perth Roads Department, ORNGE air ambulance, and Victim Services Grey-Bruce-Perth joined forces to present a motor vehicle collision response demonstration.
The educational event took place in the Municipality of West Perth at the intersection of Wellington and Frank Streets. The demonstration represented an intersection related collision and the emergency response involved and investigation required when motor vehicle collisions occur.
Attendees were provided with an overview of the roles of emergency responders and community partners, as well as a live demonstration of a response to a serious motor vehicle collision.
Following the demonstration, attendees viewed a collision reconstruction presentation by OPP Technical Collision Investigators. The educational event is part of a county wide road safety strategy and will be utilized as an additional training tool for future emergency responders in Perth County.
