(ZORRA TOWNSHIP, ON.) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Oxford Detachment responded to a break, enter and theft which was interrupted by an employee at a rural property on 31st Line, south of Road 92, Zorra Township shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018.
Two suspects were observed on the property attempting to enter a building. One male suspect was observed fleeing the area in a maroon coloured ini-van Vehicle, while a female suspect fled in a green coloured Utility Vehicle
OPP located the van in Ingersoll at Thames Street and Bell Street. The male suspect was arrested a short distance from the scene.
Police set up containment in the area, and the Utility Vehicle was located abandoned. The female suspect was arrested on foot in the area.
Through investigation it was discovered that the van had been reported stolen from a residence in Stratford. The Utility Vehicle had been stolen from another break and enter to a business on Road 92, Zorra Township. Police also recovered stolen property from inside the van which has also been taken in the Road 92 break and enter.
Charged with the following Criminal Code Offences are:
Robby NOEL, 45-years-old, of Ingersoll
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime-Under $5,000
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime- Over $5,000
Break, Enter a place - Commit Indictable Offence
Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
Driving While Disqualified
Fail to Attend Court
Fail to Comply with Recognizance
(PENDING OPP CORRECTION), 23-years-old, of Ingersoll
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime-Under $5,000
Break, Enter a place - Commit Indictable Offence
Theft of Motor Vehicle
Both accused were held in custody for bail hearings in Woodstock.
The investigation is continuing.
The OPP is asking residents to be vigilant in recognizing suspicious people or vehicles that are in your neighborhoods. It is important for this information to get to police when the suspects may still be in the area.
