(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA, ON) - On Sunday September 30, 2018 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) Check on Highway 6, north of Guelph. At approximately 1:30 a.m. the driver of a white SUV entered the R.I.D.E. check.
While speaking with the female driver, officers formed the opinion that she was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. She was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
55-year-old Deborah HICKS of Fergus has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on October 23, 2018.
