(WALKERTON, ON) - On October 6, 2018 members from the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment attended Spitzig Avenue in Walkerton to investigate an attempted theft.
Upon investigation officers determined a male suspect attempted to load a canoe into a vehicle and was confronted at the scene by the owner of the canoe. The male fled the scene leaving the canoe behind however he was later identified and has since been charged.
Alfred VAN DE POLL, 61 years of age from West Grey has been charged with Theft Under $5,000. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for November 7, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Walkerton.
