(LUCAN BIDDULPH, ON) - On October 14, 2018, at approximately 6:20 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint of an erratic driver on Main Street, Lucan.
The officer located the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop for police and fled on Coursey Line. The suspect vehicle was later observed near the Village of Huron Park, South Huron, where a male suspect was arrested after a foot pursuit.
The officer determined that the 28-year-old, male driver of the vehicle was operating the motor vehicle while impaired by drugs and under suspension. The driver was arrested and transported to a police station for further testing.
As a result of the police investigation, Jared Colin GREEN, of South Huron, Ontario has been charged with driving while under suspension pursuant to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), as well as the following offences, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada (CC);
CC 249(1)(a) Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
CC 249.1(1) Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer
CC 253(1)(a) Driving While Ability Impaired - motor vehicle (Drug)
The accused is scheduled to appear in a London court room on November 22, 2018 to answer to the charges.
