(SOUTH HURON, ON) - A driver from South Huron was caught racing well over the speed limit earlier this week in the Town of Exeter.
At approximately 6:36 a.m. on December 2, 2018 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) member was conducting speed enforcement patrol on Main Street in Exeter when he observed a small sedan travelling northbound at a very high rate of speed.
The investigating officer used a RADAR device to measure the vehicle's speed and it found the car to be travelling at a speed in excess of 50 km/h over the posted 50 km/h speed limit.
A traffic stop was conducted which led to police charging 25-year-old Exeter resident Gregory COOPER with Perform Stunt - Race a Motor Vehicle. His licence has been seized for an automatic seven days and his vehicle was also impounded. He will have to attend Provincial Offences Court in Goderich to answer to the charge.
