(PERTH COUNTY, ON) - The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to ensure the motoring public is aware that half load season is in effect throughout the County of Perth.
Half load restrictions are put in place to protect Perth County roads from sustaining permanent damage due to heavy loads. The roadways throughout the County are more susceptible to heavy load damage during the spring thaw.
Passenger vehicles are exempt from this restriction on the use of roadways.
Perth County OPP commercial motor vehicle enforcement trained officers will be monitoring commercial motor vehicle traffic over the next couple months concluding on April 30, 2019.
The half load restrictions will end on April 30, 2019 within Perth County.
There is no anticipated impact on passenger vehicles within Perth County.
Commercial vehicles are restricted to 5 tonnes per axle during the half load season.
Commercial vehicles as asked to plan ahead with confirming travel routes and to obey all road restriction signage.
