(WEST PERTH, ON) - Shortly after 10:30 p.m. on March 12, 2019, a member of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Sebringville detachment observed a motor vehicle travelling west bound on Perth Line 34 near the village of Shakespeare in the Township of Perth East. The vehicle was determined to be travelling at a rate of speed that significantly exceeded the posted speed limit and was stopped by police.
Singh NARINDERJIT, 23-years-old, of Kitchener was charged with racing. His driver's licence was seized and a driving suspension was imposed. The vehicle was towed and impounded, and he is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on a later date to answer the charges.
The OPP wants to remind driver's that speeding reduces the amount of available time needed to avoid a collision and increases the severity of a collision once it does occur.
If you observe concerning driving behaviour, pull over and call police at 1-888-310-1122. For emergencies, dial 9-1-1.
