(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) - On March 22, 2019, members of Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. spot check on Elsinore Road and Maryville Lake Road in South Bruce Peninsula.
At approximately 8:04 p.m. a pick-up truck pulled up to the R.I.D.E. check point. The driver, who appeared to have been drinking alcohol, provided a sample of his breath into an approved roadside screening device which registered a "fail".
As a result of further breath tests conducted at the Bruce Peninsula OPP Detachment, 54-year old Kevin Bruce WALKER of South Bruce Peninsula was charged Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). He was also charged with driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor under the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on April 18, 2019.
