(THAMES CENTRE, ON) - On March 30, 2019, at approximately 11:00 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a stationary motor vehicle with an individual occupying the driver's seat, on the shoulder of Clara Street in the Municipality of Thames Centre.
Upon investigation, the officer determined that the driver's ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired and demanded that the driver conduct a road-side test, to which the driver failed. The driver was arrested and transported to a police station for further testing.
As a result of the police investigation, Philip OSKIRKO of Thames Centre, Ontario was charged with the following offences, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada (CC);
Operation While Impaired - Alcohol and Drugs
Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Cocaine
Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in London, Ontario on May 10, 2019.
