(KINCARDINE, ON) - Just after 12:00 a.m. on April 16, 2019 members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were patrolling Highway 9 when they observed a motor vehicle travelling eastbound and conducted a traffic stop.
When officers initiated a traffic stop they observed the driver showing signs of impairment and determined the driver had consumed alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further tests.
The female driver, Rhonda FRITZ, a 43-year-old from South Bruce, Ontario, has been charged with:
Operation while impaired by alcohol contrary to S. 320.14(1)(a) CC
Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus contrary to S. 320.14(1)(b) CC
The accused is required to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice - Walkerton, on May 15, 2019 to answer to the charges. Her driver's licence was suspended for an automatic 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for seven days.
