(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) - On April 19, 2019, at approximately 1:00 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motor vehicle on Elginfield Road, in the Municipality of North Middlesex.
The vehicle continued to proceed on the highway, failing to stop for police. Shortly after, the vehicle was located at a private residence and the driver was observed fleeing the area.
With the assistance of the West Region (WR) OPP Canine Unit and the WR OPP Emergency Response Team, a search of the area was conducted.
Police have charged Mario MEDEIROS, 57-years-old, of Markham, Ontario with the following offences, pursuant to the Criminal Code (CC);
Flight from peace officer
Dangerous operation
Theft over $5000 of a motor vehicle
