(NORTH HURON, ON) - A 30-year-old Wingham resident will be making a trip to court in a few weeks to answer to a variety of charges of laid against her.
At approximately 8:19 a.m. on April 22, 2019 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling eastbound on Amberley Road when he met a car being driven by a known suspended driver. He immediately turned around and was able to initiate a traffic stop on Diagonal Road.
The suspect vehicle came to a stop and the identity of the driver was confirmed. A subsequent check on her driver's licence revealed she was indeed a suspended driver. As a result, she was placed under arrest and a search was conducted of the vehicle and the driver. The search revealed the female driver to be in possession of Cannabis that was readily available to the driver. As well, the driver was found to be in possession of a significant amount of Methamphetamine.
Jamie Lynn GILKINSON, age 30 from Wingham has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine, Driving Under Suspension and Drive Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available. She has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 13 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
